PRINCIPLES AND OBJECTIVES

Record Label

Kronovox Archives takes aim at:

Documenting Turkey’s experimental music heritage, regardless of genre, based on compositions, collective improvisations, and soundscapes, and presenting the final products to the audience with a curatorial approach;

Developing a “fair record label” model for Turkey, by taking inspiration from good examples that have emerged in various parts of the world since the 1950s, and regularly developing and improving this model in collaboration with copyright holders, professional associations, event designers, venue owners who unconditionally support independent music networks, rights-based music collectives, industry workers, and all other relevant stakeholders;

With this perspective, establishing partnerships to strengthen sectoral justice and supporting advocacy efforts;

To ensure transparency in regard of its principle of “fair profit sharing,” regularly informing copyright holders of its roster through annual activity reports;

Regularly measuring the satisfaction level of artists, and stakeholders through annual surveys to keep the record label’s ideal operational approach updated;

Enriching albums with artistic productions and various ephemera through a curatorial approach and collaborations with independent networks both domestically and internationally to develop interdisciplinary products and events by collaborating with visual artists, graphic designers, poets and writers, as well as initiatives and organizations focused on ecological awareness, equal access to culture, intangible cultural musical heritage, and facilitating music production for disadvantaged groups;

Developing programs and projects aimed at capacity building in the field of experimental music with regional, national and international networks that follow a similar approach, and organizing interdisciplinary events;

Organizing interdisciplinary events at independent spaces that will bring together young composers and performers operating in the field of experimental music, and holding guest artist programs to produce strategies for audience and venue development;

Encouraging solidarity practices, based on mutual exchange of services and equipment;

With an understanding that contemporary graphic applications is an integral part of musical narrative, guide or commissioning young graphic designers to produce artworks based on innovative graphic aesthetics.
